On This Day… May 30th.
30 May 1983 GBR. Maidenhead. 103.0 FM. First broadcast takes place of Radio Pythagoras. Initially with 4 watts, but soon to increase to 20 watts. This station is to also put out about 4 SW broadcasts in a few years time and cover much of the UK and Germany. The music played includes Dead Kennedys, Eric Satie, Brian Eno, Judy Tzuke, Jon Hassell, Beatles (sorry), Crass and Phil Manzanera all feature in the first show. Later shows included Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, The Enid, Jan Garbarek, Carla Bley and Einstürzende Neubauten, Ivor Biggun and Bela Bartók in the same show!
30 May 1987 GBR. Wirral. 104.8 FM. Radio Julie today features Neil Bishop and Mark Ross
30 May 1988 GBR SE London. 91.8 FM. WNKR is on air this Bank Holiday
