The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame has been updated. New this month: Radio Northsea International’s launch booklet / advertising rate card from 1970; the deaths of three former pirate people; more fascinating press cuttings from Martin Ransom’s scrap-books, this time from 1965; the Radio London racing car sixty years later and looking immaculate; Rosko and the late Tommy Vance return to the silver screen, and Dave Lee Travis is back on the radio. Delta Radio 6279 Khz

Delta Radio is active on 6279.2 Khz. Email address announced is deltaradio48@hotmail.com. Its the pirate radio station not the offical Radio Delta which broadcast on 6170 Khz and 9800 Khz. Nice tracks by the pirate Radio Delta.

Radio Igloo 1 March 2025

This coming weekend, February 28-March 3, the West Coast DX-Club in Gothenburg will have a listening weekend in a cabin in the woods 25 km north of Gothenburg.
We usually produce a new Igloo programme every time we have a listening camp, but this time it will be a favourite in rerun.
On Saturday 1st March at 22.00 CET (2100 UTC) we will broadcast a rerun of the very first Radio Igloo programme, first aired in September 2018.
The programme will be broadcast on 1629 kHz, or on a free frequency nearby.

Radio Nordsee International: Webradio mit Seesender-Bezug startet neu durch
Bereits Ende vergangenen Jahres wurde bekannt, dass Radio Nordsee International sein Comeback plant. Gemeint ist freilich nicht der Seesender, der von 1970 bis 1974 vom Radioschiff Mebo II auf Sendung war. Auch das Satellitenradio-Projekt gleichen Namens, das Anfang der 90er Jahre aus dem norwegischen Halden gesendet hat, wird nicht wiederbelebt. Stattdessen will das deutsche RNI-Webradio-Projekt nach mehr als zwei Jahren Pause seinen Sendebetrieb wieder aufnehmen.

“Als diese Schlagzeile die Runde machte, standen unsere Telefone und Handys nicht mehr still”, so die Initiatoren des Projekts. “Auch unsere Mail-Postfächer quollen über. Ja, es ist wahr. Wir starten wieder durch.” Testsendungen werden bereits seit einigen Wochen ausgestrahlt. Nun steht der Neustart des regulären Sendebetriebs kurz bevor.

Start an geschichtsträchtigem Datum

Am 28. Februar 1970 ging Radio Nordsee International vom Sendeschiff Mebo II offiziell on Air. “Viele kennen die Geschichte von RNI aus eigenem Erleben. Andere wiederum waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht geboren. Zwischen 2006 und 2022 haben wir durchgehend an den Spirit von RNI erinnert”, so die Macher. “In dieser Zeit gab es viele schöne Momente, aber auch personelle Veränderungen. Und irgendwie hat das an allen genagt. Wir brauchten eine Auszeit. Moderatoren gingen zu anderen Sendern, einige blieben mit neuen Sendungen oder Wiederholungen bei der SATzentrale. Andere hörten ganz auf.”

Umso mehr freut es die engagierten Radiomacher, auf den Tag genau 55 Jahre nachdem RNI-Start von der Mebo II mit dem neuen Webradio offiziell auf Sendung zu gehen. Die regulären Sendungen starten am kommenden Freitag um 17 Uhr.

RNI-Macher: “Nur das Original sendete von 1970 bis 1974”

“Wir haben nicht den Anspruch, etwas zu kopieren, denn nur das Original sendete von 1970 bis 1974”, heißt es in der Pressemitteilung zum Sendestart. “Aber wir haben wieder Lust und der Spirit soll nicht verloren gehen. Radio Nordsee International taucht mit vielen bekannten aber auch mit neuen Moderatoren aus Deutschland, England, den Niederlanden, Belgien und sogar aus Frankreich unter dem Dach der SATzentrale wieder auf. Der Inhaber der SATzentrale, Rico Bube-Förster, ist für die ganze Sendeabwicklung, Technik und das ganze organisatorische verantwortlich.”

Was bleibt sind die bekannten Internetadressen. Alles Wissenswerte zum neuen RNI-Projekt ist unter den URLs www.rni220.com und www.radio-northsea.de zu finden. Hier wurde bereits der Sendeplan veröffentlicht und man erfährt, wer zum Team des Webradios gehört. Der Chat ist scharf geschaltet und auch der RNI-Hörerclub ist wieder dabei. Eine Änderung gibt es. Sendungen können nicht nachgehört werden. Fast alles geht live über den Sender. Auch bei ersten Aggregatoren ist das “neue RNI” bereits wieder zu finden.

David Loveridge RIP

Just to let everyone know one of our DJs David Loveridge has just passed away .he was on Radio Galaxy 90.7 FM from 1985 to 1989 and Radio Merlin international 6305 kHz from 1991 until 16/ 09/2021.he will be dearly missed by us all.in tribute to him we will again fire up our old FM tx in memory of him.will let you all know when.our thoughts go out to all his family. I have known Dave for over 40 years he was one of the best.sleep well my friend
